ROBERTS, Vera Loretta (NEE Corkalo), age 84 passed away March 31, 2017. Loving wife of the late Travis and devoted sister of the late Delores. Survived by brother Frank Corkalo; children Michelle, Craig, and Douglas (Barbara); six grandchildren; two great grandsons; many nieces and nephews; close cousins; and her BFF Helen Daly.

Vera was born in Detroit on December 12, 1932 to Frank and Louise Corkalo. She grew up in Dearborn where she met some girls in kindergarten, graduated with them from St. Al’s in 1950, and all remained close friends their entire lives. Vera retired from the District Media Center with Farmington Public Schools, spoiled everyone with her awesome baking and excellent holiday dinners, enjoyed celebrating other peoples’ birthdays, going to lunch with friends, playing scrabble, and always chatting on the phone. She was proud to be a Croatian too!

Vera’s family is grateful for her new friends and the excellent care she received while staying at Halstead Place Apartments this past year.

Her family will receive friends Thursday from 2pm-7pm at McCabe Funeral Home, 31950 W. 12  Mile Rd., Farmington Hills. Memorial Contributions may be made to a charity of your choice in her name.
