Marilyn Joanne Dause, age 77, died peacefully after a battle with cancer. Born in Detroit, MI on February 24, 1941, she was the beloved wife of Chuck and dear mother to Ken (Jane), Kevin (Shari), Kathy (Jason) Novetsky and Kristen (Travis) Raskey and sister to Kenneth (Linda) Kozara. She was a loving grandmother to eight grandchildren.

Marilyn loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and was a wonderful cook. She attended Dominican High School and then Mercy College, earning a BA in Education in 1962. Marilyn also received a Master’s Degree from U of M. She taught throughout the Detroit Public School district for 36 years, spending many of her later years at Holcomb Elementary in northwest Detroit. Marilyn had a love of music and a beautiful voice, singing the lead in many Mercy College musicals. She was also a huge Detroit Tigers fan and would stay up late to watch the West Coast games. 

Memorial Visitation will be held on Monday, March 19, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCabe Funeral Home, 31950 W. 12 Mile Rd., Farmington Hills. Her Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 4300 Walnut Lake Rd., West Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to Angela Hospice in her name.
