Carol Ann (Hermann) Kelly, 71, of Geneva, IL passed away at home surrounded by her family after a long struggle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy on April 27, 2018.

Born December 16, 1946, in Detroit, MI she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Kathleen (O’Connor) Hermann. She is survived by her dear sister Jane (Hermann) DiCarlo.

Beloved wife to Patrick Kelly and devoted mother to Mary Kathryn (Andrew) Maus and Elizabeth (Robert) Torp. Caring stepmother to Shawn (Erin) Kelly. Amazing Nana to Alyson, Emma and Brendan. Loving Grandma Carol to Patrick, Conor, Grace, Finnegan and Brendan. Gracious and giving aunt, sister-in-law and cousin to so many.

Carol’s passion was her love and devotion to her family and friends. Her greatest joy was spoiling her grandchildren with love. She loved to travel, walking the calm beaches to relax. Her extraordinary “Martha Stewart” -like talents were stunning reflections of her love – enjoyed by those around her, as she made each gathering perfection. Her laughter alongside music-playing were a staple; always the life of a good Irish party. She was adored and loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed. Yet, we are overwhelmed with joy that she found peace and happiness in the Lord.

Visitation for Carol will be held on Sunday, May 6, 2018 from 2-8 PM with a 6 PM Rosary Service, followed by eulogies at McCabe Funeral Home, 31950 W. 12 Mile Road, Farmington Hills, MI. On May 7, 2018 a memorial gathering will take place at 9:30 AM followed by a funeral mass at 10:30 AM at St. Fabian Catholic Church, 32200 W. 12 Mile Road, Farmington Hills, MI. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 25800 W 10 Mile Rd, Southfield, MI.
