Shewman, Martin F. “Marty”, age 78, of Canton, peacefully passed away Friday, May 18, 2018 surrounded by his family.  He was born to Arthur and Jean (Hancock) Shewman on November 3, 1939 in Detroit.  Marty graduated from both MacKenzie High School and then Wayne State University.

In 1967, Martin married Carolyn Jo (Slowin) Shewman in Dearborn, Michigan.  He was an automotive purchasing manager at major automotive suppliers for many years.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years; Carolyn Jo.  Daughters; Lauren (Rob) Kelm and Nicole (Kirk) Brach-Wojno.  Grandchildren; Geoffrey Kelm, Morgan Kelm and Haley Brach.  Marty also leaves behind; Buster…the family cat.

Mr. Shewman was an avid sports fan, a man who found comfort in his Catholic faith and a devoted family man.  He will be missed.

Visitation will be held Monday, May 21, 2018 from 2-8 PM at the McCabe Funeral Home, 851 N. Canton Center Road, Canton, Michigan.  The family will receive guests on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral liturgy at 10:30 AM at St. Thomas a’ Becket Catholic Church, 555 S. Lilley Road, Canton.  Interment will follow at St. Hedwig Cemetery.
