Mae Galbraith, age 90 of West Bloomfield, passed away November 1, 2018.

From a very young age, Mae took exceptional care of those closest to her. She was described as a formidable woman who worked hard to make her own path in life. Outside of her home, Mae retired as Deputy Clerk for West Bloomfield Township. She was also active in the St. Leo’s Alumni group and former president of the Mothers’ Club at Our Lady of Refuge. Ultimately, what meant the most to Mae was her dear family. Many will remember her as an unbelievable hostess, effortlessly throwing countless parties for family and friends. Dedicating herself entirely, she took great pride in being the foundation of her immediate and extended family members and was the perfect doting Nana. Although Mae lived a full and wonderful life, she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She was the beloved wife of the late John. Loving mom of Karen (Johnny) Jackson and Debbie. Proud Nana of Brad and Heather Jackson, David (Stephanie) Jackson and Lori (Shane) Brown. Dear sister of Sarah “Tessie” McMahon. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 9th, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with eulogies at 6:30 p.m. at McCabe Funeral Home, 31950 W. 12 Mile Rd., Farmington Hills. Mae will lie in state on Saturday, November 10th, at 10:30 a.m. until the time of her funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, West Bloomfield.

In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Detroit's No-Kill Mission.
