It is with great sadness that the family of Sim Ong announces her passing after developing pneumonia, on Monday, January 7, 2019, at the age of 103 years. Sim will be lovingly remembered by her son Fred and his wife Betty, as well as her grandchildren Jennifer, Srinivas, Jon and Ginny. Sim was especially fond of her three great-grandchildren Annabeth, Owen, and Calvin. She was preceded in death by her husband Shee Fong Ong and her son, Thomas Yee.

Sim was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing and spending time with her family. She was also a devoted member of the Chinese Bible Church. Sim’s church family and extended family members visited often while she was in the West Bloomfield Nursing Center. The family would like to thank her caregivers at West Bloomfield Nursing Center for their help and support.

A viewing in memory of Sim will be held on Thursday January 10, 2019 between 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at Mc Cabe Funeral Home, 31950 West 12 Mile Road, Farmington Hills, MI 48334. A funeral service will be held on Friday January 11, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chinese Bible Church, 28111 West 10 Mile Rd, Farmington Hills, MI 48336, with pastor Andrew Cheng officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot at Mount Hope Memorial Gardens, 17840 Middlebelt Rd, Livonia, MI 48152. There will be lunch to follow at Fortune Buffet, 29583 Five Mile Road, Livonia, MI 48154. Those who so desire may make memorial donations to the Chinese Bible Church.
