Dorothy Drahos, age 89 of Farmington Hills, passed away October 2, 2020.

Smiling, laughing at a good joke and enjoying the company around her, you could always count on Dot’s positive and fun-loving personality. As the socialite of her family, she and her husband, Jack, often entertained and hosted many potluck parties. They also enjoyed bowling and were on several leagues together. Most especially, Dot was an avid Bridge player. She loved the game and looked forward to playing with various people and clubs in the area.

Above all, Dot was a devoted wife and mother. Her love for her family, friends and faith was what she cherished the most. She truly saw the good in everyone and genuinely cared for others. She was an active parishioner at Prince of Peace Catholic Church for many years now and attended Mass every Sunday. Dot will be deeply missed by the many lives she has touched. 

She was the beloved wife of Jack for 66 years. Loving mother of Stephen (Terry), Catherine (the late Brad) Marx, Carolyn (Hugh) Larkin and the late Thomas. Proud grandmother of Bryan (Rachel) Verdun, David Drahos, James Drahos, Hannah Larkin and Huey Larkin. Great-grandmother of Kennedy, Carter and Grayson Verdun. Dear sister of Judge Paul (Barbara) Teranes.

Visitation for Mrs. Drahos will be held on Wednesday, October 7th, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCabe Funeral Home, 31950 W. 12 Mile Road, Farmington Hills. She will lie in state on Thursday, October 8th at 10:30 a.m. until the time of her Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 4300 Walnut Lake Rd., West Bloomfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are appreciated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
