Albert Zachariah

December 24, 1958 - June 17, 2021

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Albert Zachariah Chirayilparambil, beloved husband of Philomina Zachariah and father of Christopher and Chrystal on Thursday, June 17, 2021, in West Bloomfield, Michigan. He was 62 years old.

“If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.” - Romans 14:8

Albert was the youngest of 10 children born to the late Mr. C.J. Zachariah and late Mrs. Achamma Zachariah in Kerala, India. He arrived in the United States in 1981. He and Philomina were married in 1987, and over the course of 34 happy years, they were blessed with their two children, Christopher and Chrystal, who Albert adored. Albert had a fulfilling career as the director of information technology at a local youth social services organization. He loved his family, his work, and his community.

In 2020, Albert was diagnosed with cancer. With God’s grace and the support, love, and prayers of his family, friends, and community, Albert fought bravely for over a year. On June 17, 2021, he was called home by the Lord and blessed with a peaceful passing, surrounded by his loving family.

Albert is survived by his wife, Philomina (daughter of the late Mr. Matthew Varghese and Mariamma Kannanthanam, Manimala); his son, Christopher; his daughter, Chrystal; his brothers, James and Louis; and his sisters, Mariamma, Thresiamma, Catherine, Philomina, Ciciliamma, and Susan; as well as multiple loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Annamma.
