Alfreda Czerwinski passed away on November 30, 2022 at the beautiful age of 97. She was born May 20, 1925 in Siemierz, Poland, to Bronislaw and Ewa Ponurek.

In May of 1970, and having lived through WWII, Alfreda immigrated from Poland to the United States. The life she continued to build was always full of love for her dear family, and deep devotion to her faith. A daily Mass goer, Alfreda loved her church and especially loved to pray the Rosary. In mind, body and spirit, she was a strong woman full of constant energy and was able to remain active throughout her entire life. She loved to walk and ride her bicycle anywhere she needed to go. She had a talent for knitting and made sure everyone in her family received her specialty of a hat and a pair of slippers. She was also an avid gardener and loved to plant flowers all around her house. Alfreda also loved to travel with her Catholic Pilgrimage groups. Over the years, she’s visited countless churches in many states. She’s also traveled to Hawaii and Florida, and most notably, to Jerusalem to visit the Holy Land. Most of all, Alfreda cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her great-grandchildren, whom she absolutely adored.

Alfreda was the beloved wife of the late Bronislaw. Loving mother of Jan (Kazia). Dear grandmother of Donna (Nick) Sekulovski and Monica (Mark) Price. Proud great-grandmother of Alexa, Karina, Lucas and Amelia.

Visitation for Alfreda will be held on Sunday, December 4th, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a 6:00 p.m. Rosary Service at McCabe Funeral Home, 31950 W. 12 Mile Rd., Farmington Hills. She will lie in state on Monday, December 5th, at 10:30 a.m. until the time of her Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Barbara Catholic Church, 13534 Colson St., Dearborn. Committal prayers will follow the Funeral Mass at St. Hedwig Cemetery, Dearborn Heights.
