Steve Dowhan passed away peacefully on January 31, 2023 at the age of 72 after fighting a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer for 2 1/2 years. 

Born in Detroit to Stephen and Dolores Dowhan, Steve attended grade school at Our Lady of Grace, graduated from Detroit Catholic Central High School ('68), and continued his education at Eastern Michigan University ('72) before marrying his beloved wife, Karen (nee Tyler) in 1979.

Steve was the loving father of Philip and Stephen J. and brother of Elaine (Michael) Coughlin, Paul (Trisha), David, and the late Timothy.

Growing up in Detroit, the professional sports teams held a special place in Steve's heart; he was a Lions season ticket holder back in the Silverdome days and had fond memories of attending many Tigers games, especially during their World Series runs in 2006 and 2010. In addition to being a spectator, Steve enjoyed golfing and bowling and took pride in his hole-in-one and perfect 300 game. 

A Memorial Gathering for Steve will be held Friday, February 10, at 10:00 a.m. until the time of his Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Fabian Catholic Church, 32200 W. 12 Mile Rd., Farmington Hills. Memorial contributions may be made to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen.
