I remember Jerry well during his tenure at HFH - a real gentleman and first class clinical chemist.

Jerry Chu was a gift to us all. He was the greatest pure Chemist I knew in a third of a century at Henry Ford and I've had the pleasure to work with several. As a newcomer, I was lucky to share an office next to him for many years. He was welcoming, completely pleasant, and one I was proud to call a friend. The professional staff and Residents held him in awe. He was a humble man in so many ways, and, like many, I wish I had more days...many more days with this great man. He made us all better and had what I would call, "quiet strength" because he was a teacher and we didn't even know that class was in session. I hold him, Martha, and all of his family, and his friends in my prayers. Jerry was one of those magnificent shooting stars we are blessed to see but wish would last a lot longer. My condolences to Martha and all the family. Jerry was a lovely man and dear friend and colleague in clinical chemistry community for many years. He was the best chemist among us. He also had a great sense of humor and we shared many "chemist" laughs.
