It was so hard to say "Good bye" when Mrs. VanZandt retired but even harder now, to know we will never see her smiling face grace the halls at St. Fabian school. She was one of the best teachers we had ever had the pleasure to know. She really encouraged every child to be the best they could be. You knew she loved being a teacher - inspiring, loving, fair, and creative- she made everyday in the classroom fun. But most importantly she made every person feel special, listened to and truly loved. What a wonderful person and she will be sorely missed. We will never forget her Danny or Ray. So sorry. The Dwyer Family
Dear Ray and Danny, We are so saddened for your loss. We loved Mary! She made life and each of us a little better just by knowing her. The worlds light just grew a little dimmer with her passing. May Gods blessing be with all of you as you grieve the loss of this amazing woman who made a difference in so many lives. Prayers, Mike, Patty, Mickey, Charlie and Danny McNeece
I always saw her with a smile on her face;
I only heard kindness shown to her precious wards.
I always watched miracles in her teaching space;
I only know she's in the presence of the Lord.
God bless Mary
Mary Van Zandt was a saint and I loved her.

What a smile, what a laugh, what a teacher, what a mom, what a friend.
I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of one of the most incredible teachers I have had the privilege of having while attending St. Fabian as a kid. She was the kind of teacher that brought life to teaching. She was one of the few teachers that made learning fun. Whether it was learning about the Revolutionary War, colonial life in America, she actually made learning exciting. She also did the same for math and science. She was full of life, love, and guidance. She was incredible and she will be missed greatly. My prayers go out to her and her family!!!!!!
May you find solace in the cherished memories of your loved one,Mary during this difficult time. Peace be with you.
Dear Mary- you were so loved by us and you will be greatly missed.
Prayers to Ray and Danny. We are all here for you.
