I will forever remember Gene as a funny, genuine, sweet man. He will be greatly missed at our Starbucks store. His every day visit for the last 15+ years were always filled with laughter. As a senior at ophs (1975) they let us go out to lunch. Mr Woo was always kind to us, stark contrast to the lady at Davidson Coney Island. My father Irv and Gene talked frequently. Lots of great memories in their restaurant. When I'm in town i often go back and love how it hadn't changed at all. May his memory be a blessing and his family find peace

Our family frequented Hoa Kow in Oak Park for many many years (some of the best) and came to know you and your family personally...Gene, you created a dynamic energy amongst your family, staff & customers (many of which became friends), and produced THE most deliciously memorable food...I can still taste the Almond Boneless Chicken, Whitefish, etc... may your memory be a blessing to all that knew you and may you Rest in Eternal Peace with those that have passed before you!
