I Remember...

So sorry to hear about Aunt Maureen, such a special person and a huge part of my childhood. Visiting Aunt Maureen and Uncle Pete and the girls was always so much fun whether it was in Floral Park or on Lincoln Walk in Breezy. She was the only person who could keep Pete Goode under control. Rest in Peace Aunt Maureen!

We moved to Kimberley subdivision in 1982. We were lucky enough to have the best neighbors living right across the street-Maureen and Pete Goode . We immediately became good friends. Two of the girls became our babysitters and they were great , no doubt due to Maureen's influence. Maureen knew everyone and kept an eye on all of us through her kitchen window. If she wasn't cooking she was in the yard gardening. We would walk over all the time and talk with her and Pete, it was always a laugh. They would tell us stories about Breezy Point, Pete's service to our country during the Korean war, and most of all, how the kids and grandkids were doing. She loved them dearly. I will recall to this day her saying "Oh Peter" whenever he would go off on some funny story. Maureen will be missed, she was a treasure.

Loved Breezy Memories... visiting the Goodes and the Prendergasts and cousins running wild! Still have the mug Aunt Maureen & Uncle Pete bought me when I visited while doing my graduate work at Notre Dame. Was great to have a MidWest family! Go well, Aunt Maureen.

I will always remember the spirit of Maureen. She connected with my spirit from the first time we met at the the mailbox at Crystal Village. She loved her husband Peter and would stand up for what she knew was right. After a HOA meeting, I left and outside, I gave her a new name.... Feisty!!! You will always be in our hearts. Love Tony

I remember when Brad and I first became neighbors of Maureen and Peter and how we would visit in the driveway listening to the wonderful stories they told us of their lives, travels, and family. There was always joy and laughter in their voices and it was evident how much love they shared throughout their lives. The last time I saw Maureen we were talking about the power outage and she was showing me how to unhook the garage door and she told me, "anything you need, you just ask me," I gave her a big hug and told her I loved her. Good-bye sweet friend and I will look up to the heavens to see your smiling face.
