Barbara and I rode the school bus together for eight years to Shrine Grade School. A nun would ride the bus with us on the way home and she would lead the rosary. Since we lived a block from each other we spent summers outside riding bikes and going to the park. We became blood sisters when we picked our arms with a needy and joined them. We had fun in Girl Scouts going to Greenfield Village for the weekend and singing Found a Peanut. In the winter , we would go to the Sunday movie matinee. Because Barbara was bigger than me they tried to charge her for an adult ticket. When we were 12. It cost us 20 cent to see a double feature with cartoons and newsreels. I miss you old friend.
