I knew Dan from the Michigan Manufacturers Association Lawyers Committee. He was the smartest and most humble in the room. He was always well prepared and willing to assist other attorneys facing challenges in their practice. He was kind and welcoming to new attorneys attending the meetings and had a good sense of humor. I was sorry to see that he died a few months ago and would have attended his services if I'd known then. My thoughts and prayers are for his family and friends.
Memories
It is with great sadness that I learned of Dan's passing. All of us at the Sports Club will miss our daily interactions with Dan. He was a wise and caring man. To Margie, Mark and Kaylene, Lee and Hope and Jacob, I hope you can find peace in the memories and legacy Dan left behind.
Dan and I walked together regularly at the Sports Club the past couple of years. He always said we would do 28 laps, which I think was about a 30 minute walk, and equated to about 1.5 miles. Dan kept track of the count as I knew I did not have to pay attention, and the time passed so quickly as we continued to discuss our country and our worldly situations. Dan was a brilliant man: I respected his opinions, his knowledge, and his memory was amazing! I will miss our walks together.
I had the privilege of working with Dan for fourteen years at GM. He was a brilliant lawyer and an always willing team player. But aside from his professionalism, Dan was always kind, unselfish, patient and had remarkable integrity. The world has lost a fine man.
