Annabelle Baker
Annabelle Livermore, Bloetscher, Baker was born November 20, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan. She was the first daughter of Annie Isabelle Towall and Harold Bruce Livermore. In her family of four she had an older brother, Alfred, and two younger sisters, Doris and Carol.

The family lived together in a one bathroom home on Trinity in Northwest Detroit. According to the family legend, "Little Annabelle" did not talk until she was three years old and it is often said that she never stopped talking for the next 84 years.

As a young girl, she attracted the eye of several fellows in school but fell in love with Loren Bloetscher. She married her high school sweetheart during the war years in 1943. At the time they were married, Loren was stationed at Will Rodgers Air Force Base in Oklahoma City. When Loren went off to war, Annabelle returned home to work for her father. While home, she gave birth to her son, Loren Robert Bloetscher Jr.

When the war was over, Loren Senior returned home. Life was difficult for the young couple and they divorced. Annabelle raised her son, Loren Jr., as she continued to work for he father and lived with her parents. Father and daughter working together grew and developed Livermore Service into a viable business. In 1975, Annabelle became the first woman in Detroit, Michigan to have a Heating & Cooling License. The business lasted until 2002, when Annabelle retired.

In 1960, Annabelle began dating again and met Gene Baker. Loren Jr. went off to college in 1962 and this freed up time for Anne to enjoy many good times with her friends. Over the next four years, Anne and Gene's relationship became more serious and the two were married in December of 1966.

In 1967, Loren married Kathleen Gail Bates. In Kathy, Annabelle found a daughter and lifelong buddy who loved to share birthdays, Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners with the family.

The ever vivacious, never aging, "natural" red head vowed she'd never get old. Each year, family and friends would attend her annual "39th" birthday party. On Loren's 40th birthday, one of her best friends wrote a song parity which ended with the line, "A biological first, the son is older than the mother…She did it her way!" Seven years ago, over 100 people attended her 80th birthday party where she finally admitted to being 40 years old.

Annabelle loved people and had a great zest for life. We will miss her smile and the joy her stories have brought to all of us.

Annabelle Livermore, Bloetscher, Baker passed away at age 87 on January 11, 2013. She was a mother to both Kathy and Loren Bloetscher. She was the beloved wife of the late Gene Baker. She will be fondly remembered by her sister Doris Lundy, sister Carol (Richard) Murphy and the late Alfred Livermore.

Annabelle's life will be celebrated on January 16, 2013 at McCabe Funeral Home's Farmington Hills Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be directed to the charity of your choice.
