Dennis M. Still

September 1, 1949 - February 22, 2021

Dennis M. Still, age 71 of Plymouth, passed away peacefully at home surrounded family on February 22, 2021.

Dennis was born on September 1, 1949 in Detroit to Floyd and Josephine Still. He graduated from McKenzie High School in Detroit, Michigan in 1967. Just a year later, he married his one true love, Margaret “Peggy” Jekot, whom he had known since kindergarten. The two made their home in Detroit and were blessed with three children. While living in Detroit, Dennis worked for the Detroit Water Department, a job he genuinely enjoyed, especially the camaraderie with his co-workers. Over time, Dennis worked his way up the ranks to senior mechanic, giving him the benefit of a truck and his own crew.

After seven years of dedication to the Detroit Water Department, the family moved out of Detroit to Dearborn Heights for their children’s schooling. To support his family, Dennis completed an apprenticeship for truck driving and received his Commercial Driver’s License. He held various driving jobs and retired from FedEx, where he was employed for most of his career. Throughout his career as a driver, he received multiple safe driving awards and could boast that he had no accidents.

Dennis was a true handy man who spent much of his spare time on home improvement projects. He was also fascinated with mechanics and started working on cars at a young age. An avid sports enthusiast, he enjoyed following local sports teams, especially the Detroit Tigers and Lions. The time Dennis spent with family, however, was most important and he was incredibly devoted to his children. His memory will be cherished by his children, extended family, and all who knew him.

Dennis was the beloved husband of the late Peggy for 48 years. Loving father of Scott Still (Bethany Becker), Rachel (Jason) Rembisz, and the late Kate Still. Proud grandfather of Madison and Jessica Still and Kennedy and Hadley Rembisz. Dear brother-in-law of Pat (Douglas) Pelc and Leo (Chris) Jekot. Cherished uncle of Danielle Borieo, Matt Pelc, Kyle Jekot, and Courtney Hunt and great-uncle to many great-nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Mr. Still will be held on Sunday, February 28th, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCabe Funeral Home, 31950 W. 12 Mile Rd., Farmington Hills. He will be laid to rest in St. Hedwig Cemetery, Dearborn Heights.
