I Remember...

A life that left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him. That life belonged to Uncle Frank. Although my dad was an only child, I was blessed with five uncles--Andy, Dave, Charlie, Tom and Frank--and each brought something unique to our family. But there was something about Uncle Frank. He wasn't just one of the uncles. He was the uncle. The center of his own family, yes--but somehow, the center of mine, too. No matter where we were--whether up north or down in Florida--I would hear those familiar words: "Let's go see Frank." It was never a question of if we'd see him, but when. And every visit felt like coming home. Uncle Frank had a way of bringing people together. He didn't need to try--he just did. His presence was steady, comforting, and quietly powerful. You always felt like things would be okay when he was around. He wasn't loud about his love, but he showed up--in ways big and small. A joke at the right time, a helping hand when you didn't ask for it, a look that said, I see you. I've got you. That's the kind of man Uncle Frank was. And that's the kind of man we'll miss. But even as we say goodbye, we carry him with us. In the stories we tell. In the ways we care for each other. In the voice in our heads that still says, "Let's go see Frank." Thank you, Uncle Frank, for being our center--for being home. We love you. We miss you. And we'll never forget you.

Frank was the most hard working, patient, and truely generous person I've ever met. His smile and quiet confidence will be greatly missed. Many wonderful times shared with him, Lois and Diane. Rest in peace Sir.. you will be missed!

Mr. K. referred to Diane and I as Mutt and Jeff when we were in high school due to the disparity in our heights. LOL He was so funny!
