December 16, 1926 - August 26, 2015

Gloria Wolcott Dresser, age 88, beloved wife of Willard L. Dresser, for 64 years. Loving mother of Henry (Julie) Dresser, Cynthia (Bradley) Reynolds, Nancy Dresser and Susan (Robert) Sedlak. Proud grandmother of Eric (Nicole) Dresser, Scott (Jamie) Dresser, Kaitlyn (James) Balough, Laura (Brandon) Reynolds-Bobisink, Luke Reynolds, John Schwanik, Corinne Schwanik, Kayla Sedlak, Lisa Sedlak, Jeremy Sedlak, Amanda (John) Hattenstein. She is blessed with twelve great-grandchildren and counting. Aunt to Mary (Faaborg) Matejewski.

Born in Shelby, Ohio, Gloria, her parents and only sister, the late Bette Faaborg, later relocated to Michigan where she attended high school in Royal Oak. She received her training as an R.N. at the University of Michigan and worked as a nurse at the Dodge Main Plant, then later at New Grace Hospital, both in Detroit. Gloria married the love of her life on September 16, 1950. Shortly, Willard was deployed to Okinawa, where Gloria found work until the birth of their son, Henry. Gloria was a devoted daughter, wife, mother of four children and homemaker. She and Willard made a home in Detroit where they raised their four children. She resumed working part time as a nurse when the children were older. Later, she resided in Troy and for the past ten years, at Fox Run in Novi. Gloria served as an accomplished organist and choral member at each church where she & Willard worshiped in Detroit and Troy, as well as Hobe Sound, FL. While living in Troy, she became part of a small group of women who entertained children with disabilities in schools throughout the area, with animated musical productions, costumes and all! She enjoyed traveling to experience the beauty of God’s creation and made several trips abroad after Willard’s retirement from GMAC. Gloria had many interests besides music and traveling, including sewing, needlework, gardening, nutritious meal preparation, photography and exercise, especially swimming, striving for perfection in all she did. She will be missed by all her family and friends and remembered with many fond, happy memories!
