Beloved mother, sister, aunt, friend, and neighbor passed away after a lengthy illness on September 21, 2016 at the age of 92. Josephine was born in Rathmill, Pennsylvania to Stanley and Sophie Babiarz on April 2, 1924. She met her soul mate Joseph after the war, married, and moved to Farmington Hills where she resided until her passing. She retained a keen interest in nature, world events, politics, and traveling the world for the past 47 years. In her spare time she loved to bake, garden, and paint with water colors. Her long and determined fight against cancer inspired all that knew her.

She is survived by her daughter Sandra Kawecki; sister Alexandra Babiarz; and several cousins.
