Kathy Zeoli

July 5, 1955 - April 16, 2017

Kathern Maschell (Mott) Zeoli passed away on April 16th, 2017, at the age of 61, nine short months after a brain cancer diagnosis. Kathy was born on July 5th, 1955 in Hayti, Missouri, to Elmer “Pete” Mott and Eleanor (Bell) Mott. Shortly thereafter, the family moved to Michigan, where Kathy attended Belleville public schools, graduating from Belleville High School in 1973. Kathy married Mark Zeoli at the First Congregational Church in Ypsilanti on April 29th, 1978. They had two children, Amanda and Michael, and resided in Ypsilanti, Michigan for the past 33 years.

In 2004, Kathy began employment at NSF International in Ann Arbor in the Accounting Department. She was well respected for her keen bookkeeping abilities and mathematical accuracy, and cultivated many long-lasting friendships. She was known as a hard working, dependable, and loyal employee, who enjoyed her job and the different challenges each day would bring.

Kathy loved Elvis Presley, Las Vegas, prime rib, and slot machines, in no particular order. Kathy and Mark were known for their weekly trips to the casino, and miraculously always coming home either ahead or breaking even. Kathy adored loving on and spoiling her grandson Maddox, always making sure to have a “surprise” gift for him each time they saw each other. She was delighted to meet her second grandson Hudson, who was born a few months after her diagnosis.

Kathy is survived by her devoted husband, Mark; her children, Amanda Zeoli-Harris, and her husband Ian Harris; Michael Zeoli, and his partner Melanie Ruuska; her grandsons Maddox and Hudson Harris; her mother, Eleanor Mott; her siblings Danny (Karen) Mott, Becky (Paul) Steinmayer, and Jackie (Allen) Jencks. She was preceded in death by her father, Pete Mott.

Public visitation will be held at McCabe Funeral Home, 851 N Canton Center Rd., in Canton, on Wednesday, April 19th from 5:00pm – 8:00pm, and on Thursday, April 20th from 11:00am to 12:00pm, immediately followed by a celebration of life, with cremation to follow.

If desired, donations can be made to DefeatGBM.org, a subsidiary of the National Brain Tumor Society.
