Crawford, Zachary John (1989-2017) Loving son of Kevin and Teresa. Brother and wiffleball teammate of Joshua, Gabriel, Nicholas, Daniel, Michael, Robert. Kindred soul and adventurer with his beloved Anna Rossi. He lived his full and accomplished 27 years in Michigan, BA graduate of University of Michigan in English and winner of the prestigious Hopwood Award for Poetry. Zack embraced the joy of living and was a true friend to so many of so many backgrounds. Everywhere, he entered with a confident stride, a happy smile, and kind, genuine words—the classrooms where he taught fortunate young students a love of poetry, local markets where he befriended the garlic growers and cheesemakers, studios where he made music. He was a great cook and dedicated beekeeper, an avid reader and pianist, a chocolate CEO and part-time letterpress artist, a brilliant poet, writer and reader. As a skier, he cut clean, smooth lines down mountains or across the Torch Lake waters he so loved. As a traveler, he sought out the best people, best food, best adventures. He battled his disease so bravely and without complaint. Zack was a student in this life; a life of wide and varied interests in which his diligent work ethic and meticulous attention to detail produced so much beauty and happiness. He created the mold to which his brothers and so many of his friends and family look to as they travel through their lives. He was a writer and artist with so much left to say. It is up to the many who loved him dearly to continue his wonderful story.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 15th from 3-8pm with Eulogies beginning at 7pm at McCabe Funeral Home, 31950 W. Twelve Mile Road, Farmington Hills.

Instate on Wednesday, August 16th at 9:30am until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:30am at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 23815 Power Road, Farmington Hills.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Inside Out Literary Arts Project, in Detroit.
