Mannor Lee

February 16, 1957 - November 9, 2018

Mannor Lee passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on November 9, 2018 at the age of 61. She was the loving wife of Henry for 41 years; devoted mother of Wilson, 37, (Amy, 34), Alexander, 33, Michael, 25, Jonathan, 25, (Samantha, 23), Janna, 23, and Kristina Lee, 20; and cherished grandmother of George, with a second grandchild on the way.

Mannor was born in Hong Kong on February 16, 1957. In Hong Kong she finished her middle school education and then decided to work in factories making artificial flowers and radio components to help support her family. Mannor married Henry in March and immigrated to the United States in May of 1978. After arriving in the country, she quickly started working at Red Ruby Restaurant, despite her inability to speak English. She sought guidance from her customers and they graciously taught her the language. Later, she and Henry took ownership of the restaurant. After owning Red Ruby for 30 years, she retired from the business in 2015. She was later diagnosed with ALS in January of 2016.

She had her first child in 1981 and last child in 1998. In November 2016, she became a proud grandmother. Mannor strongly felt that her family was the most important thing in her life. She successfully realized her goal of supporting all six of her children through college. Because of her experiences growing up in Hong Kong, she pushed her children to pursue their education. She frequently reminded them to always be kind, work hard, and help others. She wished her children travel in her place and stressed the importance of experiencing and accepting other cultures and religions. In 2004, Mannor focused her spirituality and studied Bhuddism. She attended the American Bhuddist Temple in Howell where she gained many valuable friends. On Sundays Mannor could be found at Temple, assisting and attending services. She loved deeply, worked hard, and felt her life was complete.

Mannor’s visitation will be held Tuesday, November 13th , from 10am until the time of her Funeral Service 12:30pm at McCabe Funeral Home, 31950 W. 12 Mile Rd., Farmington Hills. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to ALS of Michigan in her name. https://ssl.charityweb.net/alsofmichigan/
