Mary Patricia Fong of West Bloomfield, passed away October 12, 2019 at the age of 62. She was the loving wife of Lawrence for 24 years; devoted mother of Jennifer (Justin), Daniel, Rebecca, Stephen, and the late Christina; cherished daughter of Chui Choi and the late Shue Hong Wo; dear sister of Rose (Michael) Tan and Roy (Dorothy) Wo; and caring aunt of Christopher, Laura, Jessica, Tracy, and Trevor.

Mary was born on March 4, 1957 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada to Chui Choi and Shue Hong Wo. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from McGill University and went on to become a fashion buyer for chain department stores in Canada. Mary met Lawrence Fong in Toronto and the two were married in 1995. Following their nuptials, the couple was blessed with two children to join their family.

Mary was an excellent homemaker and an active member of the community, often sharing her skill of baking and sewing with others. She was involved with the local school district for many years by organizing various bake sales and luncheons, as well as by making uniform alterations for the high school orchestra. She was also a long-time member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and taught catechism and volunteered for the summer bible school. Mary was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, and aunt. The time spent together will be cherished forever.

Mrs. Fong’s family will receive friends on Saturday, October 19th, from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. and Sunday, October 20th, from 1 p.m. – 8 p.m. at McCabe Funeral Home, 31950 W. 12 Mile Rd., Farmington Hills. She will lie in state Monday, October 21st, at 10 a.m. until the time of her Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 4300 Walnut Lake Rd, West Bloomfield Township. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery, Southfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Angela Hospice in her name.
