Alvin B. Shoalts, age 89 of West Bloomfield, passed away November 30, 2019.

A devoted husband and proud father, Al has left countless wonderful memories for his family to cherish. He proudly served with the United States Air Force and was a successful executive with American Motors, eventually retiring with the Chrysler corporation. Known as “Uncle Al, the kiddie’s pal”, he loved to joke around and draw cartoons on the arms of his nieces and nephews. Although Al came from a small family with their share of misfortune, as he lost his father at a young age, all that changed when he met the love of his life, Mary Jane. Along with Mary Jane came her family, that welcomed him with open arms, and a son Jonathan, who was the perfect fit. When Al became a grandfather, there was even more joy to share as he beamed with a pride that would continue until the day God called him home. Al will be remembered as the genuine and caring man he always was, and he will truly be missed beyond measure by all who knew him.

He was the beloved husband of Mary Jane for 70 years. Loving father of Jonathan (Angela). Cherished grandfather of Chase, Clayton and Tatum. Dear brother-in-law of Beatrice Peters and Virginia Eagle. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Al will be held on Thursday, December 5th, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of his funeral service at 12:00 p.m. at McCabe Funeral Home, 31950 W. 12 Mile Rd., Farmington Hills. Interment will follow in Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens, Novi.
