Virginia M. Biehl passed away January 27, 2020 at the age of 85. She was the loving wife of Laurence for 61 years; devoted mother of Mark (Debbie) and Cathy (Bob) Flynn; cherished grandmother of R.J., Megan, and Bridget Flynn; and dear sister of Jim (Betty) Larke and the late Bill Larke.

Virginia Muriel was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan on May 11, 1934 to William and Jesse Larke. She grew up in “The Soo” and after graduating from high school went onto earn a bachelor’s degree in Music from Alma College. During her early teaching years in Hazel Park, Ginny met Laurence C. Biehl of Detroit.  They were married in Sault Ste. Marie in August 1958. Soon after, the pair decided to start a family and were blessed with two children, Mark and Cathy.

Ginny loved raising her children, yet she still found time to further her education.  She went on to obtain her master’s degree in Education from Wayne State University. Ginny then became a Vocal Music Consultant for Farmington Public Schools and retired after 25 plus years of dedication.

Throughout Ginny and Larry’s relationship, they enjoyed traveling and seeing the world; visiting Europe, Asia, Central America and numerous places of interest throughout the United States. Ginny’s faith was important to her all through her life. She was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church of Farmington and a longstanding member of Kirk in the Hills, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.

Ginny was a wonderful musician who also enjoyed cooking, reading and entertaining. Other group affiliations included Great Lakes Chamber Music, P.E.O. and Delta Kappa Gamma. She was an outstanding wife, mother and grandmother, soaking up every moment possible with her family. Her love and legacy will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

She has been laid to rest at White Chapel Cemetery, Troy.  A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 8th, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Kirk in the Hills, 1340 W. Long Lake Rd, Bloomfield Hills, MI  48302. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to Kirk in the Hills in her name.
