Elena V. McGowan, age 93 of Farmington Hills, passed away January 29, 2020.

Elena will be remembered as a strong woman with a kind and gentle spirit. She was always so genuine and giving, generous in love and gifts alike. She enjoyed her life, traveling and spending time with those she treasured the most. Elena's family was her number one priority and the love she shared with them will truly be missed beyond measure.

Elena was the beloved wife of the late Jim McGowan. Loving mother of Susan (Noel) Hernandez, Nancy (Daniel) Hagedon and Eric (Malissa) Henkelman and the late Mark Henkelman. Dear grandmother of Drew Hagedon, Danielle Hagedon (Bryan Camilleri) and Catie Henkelman. Great-grandmother of Nick and Jack Camilleri.

Visitation for Mrs. McGowan will be held on Sunday, February 2nd, from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at McCabe Funeral Home, 31950 West 12 Mile Road, Farmington Hills. She will lie in state on Monday, February 3rd, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of her Funeral Mass at 10:45 a.m. at St. Owen Catholic Church, 6869 Franklin Road, Bloomfield Hills.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Elena's name are appreciated to Disabled American Veterans.
