Sally Piaskowski

March 29, 1934 - May 9, 2020

Sally Piaskowski passed away May 9, 2020 at the age of 86. She was the loving wife of Dr. Clement ‘Clem’ T. Piaskowski for 60 years; devoted mother of Karen (Mark) Williams and Dr. Ron (Brenda) Piaskowski; cherished grandmother of Noel Williams (Kevin Fives), Erica (Theo) Rabban and Bradley and Nicole Piaskowski; and dear sister of the late Joe Koprowski, Jr.

Sally was born on March 29, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois to Joseph and Josephine Koprowski. She attended Hyde Park High School and graduated in 1952. Sally met Clement Piaskowksi in Chicago while he was attending optometry college. On May 17, 1958, the pair exchanged vows at St. Andrew's Church in Detroit. The loving couple settled down to raise their family and were blessed with two children: Karen and Ron. Clem began his 50 (+) year practice on Michigan Avenue and Sally enjoyed assisting him with his patients and practice.

Sally lived a very healthy lifestyle and was an avid exerciser. She and Clem were longtime members of the Novi Sports Club of which she proudly displayed an entire case of tennis trophies from leagues and tournaments. Sally was a parishioner at St. Fabian Catholic Church of Farmington Hills and a devout Catholic, leaning on her faith to guide her through life. Sally and Clem were also world travelers, exploring together as they grew older.

Most importantly, Sally was an outstanding mom and grandma, always taking time to make her grandchildren feel special. She babysat often, enjoying her grandchildren’s imaginations as they played ‘Travel Agent’ and ‘Library’, some of their favorite memories. Sally will be remembered for her beautiful, sweet, and kind soul. Her loving influence will continue to bless her family and friends.

Sally has been reunited with her beloved husband and has been laid to rest at Glen Eden Lutheran Memorial Park, Livonia. A Memorial Mass celebrating her life will be held at St. Fabian Catholic Church at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions are appreciated to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America in her name.
