Charles Henry Conn, age 94 of Farmington Hills, passed away at home June 1, 2020.

Charles was born in Uhrichsville, Ohio on February 2, 1926 to Altha and Lena Conn. After graduating from high school, Charles went on to serve his country in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. After returning home, Charles attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. There he met the love of his life, Penny, and the two were married in 1949 in Dover, Ohio. Charles later graduated from Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering. In 1959, he and his family moved to Farmington Hills, Michigan for his job at Weirton Steel where he dedicated 40 years of employment.

Charles was an avid golfer, spending his time playing golf at all the golf courses southeast Michigan has to offer. Charles traveled with Penny all over the United States and also Canada, Mexico, Scotland, England, Italy, and Egypt. He also enjoyed reading, whether it was the newspaper or a book about history.

Charles was the beloved husband of the late Penny. Loving father of Steve (Jane) Conn and Marianne (Perry) Westhaus. Cherished grandfather of Stephanie (Mike) Palia, Laura and Michael Conn, Eric and Kyle Westhaus. Dear brother of John and uncle of Holly (Chip) Weisent. Charles also leaves behind his special caregiver of 6 ½ years, Jill Bender.
