Jean Alice Middlekauff passed away November 16, 2020 at the age of 97.

She was the loving wife of the late Robert; devoted mother of Gary, Lee (Diana), and Glenn (Darleen); cherished grandmother of Ryan, Lindsay (Brian) Corcoran, Garret (Kimberly), Amanda (Alex) Mera, Jamie (Chase) Koppen, Katie (Matt) Cozzolino, Amy and Ross Middlekauff and great grandmother of Aubrie, Keaton, Emma, Austin, Brynn, Hunter, Alexis, Estelle, Bonnie, Sylvie, and one on the way. She also leaves her dear brother Bruce and joins the late James and late David Ettling.

Jean Alice was born on July 1, 1923 in Detroit, Michigan to Arthur and Alice Ettling. She was the eldest amongst her three brothers: Bruce, James and David. Jean graduated high school and went to work for a short time before marriage.

In the early 1950’s, Jean met Robert Middlekauff, their love blossomed, and the couple was married on January 30, 1954. Their household grew with the blessing of children shortly after. Jean and Robert raised their family in Detroit, keeping a loving and happy environment.

Jean loved being a mom. She always prepared wonderful meals for her children to enjoy and had a talent for sewing, creating pieces for her loved ones. Jean loved to read and volunteered when she could.  She was strong in her faith, a longtime member of Antioch Lutheran in Farmington Hills. Later in life, Jean and Robert enjoyed travelling, visiting Europe and taking trips while enjoying each other’s company.

Jean was an exceptional mother and grandmother, always doting and attentive. Her loving soul will be cherished by her family and friends.

A memorial for Jean will be held at a later date. She will be laid to rest at Oakland Hills Memorial Park Cemetery, Novi. In loving memory, Memorial Contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association are appreciated.
