Mary Grace Ross

September 26, 1924 - April 12, 2022

Mary Grace Ross, age 97 of Farmington Hills, passed away April 12, 2022. She was born on September 26, 1924, in Warwick, Rhode Island to the late Joseph and Martha Allen, the second youngest of nine children.

Mary Grace grew up on the Allen Family Farm on Toll Gate Road in Warwick, taking care of the chickens and selling strawberries and vegetables by the road. During the Great Depression, her family's farm actively produced much needed food for the community. That early experience instilled in her the values she possessed her entire life: a strong work ethic, thriftiness, and an abiding compassion for others. She attended and graduated from Lockwood High School in Warwick, Rhode Island. Mary Grace met Frank Ross and the lovely couple wed and were blessed with five children. Besides being a homemaker, she also worked at Ross Production Systems of Farmington, MI as a secretary and business partner alongside her husband for over 40 years.

Mary Grace was a talented seamstress and would sew clothing for her family and would even help Frank upholster the furniture. She and Frank were ballroom dancers, a skill they learned and enjoyed on their 68 cruises. Her greatest joy in life was her family and she was always happy to share with them stories of her childhood growing up on the farm. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Mary Grace was the beloved wife of the late Frank for just shy of 70 years. Loving mother of Cynthia Hunter, Peter (Beatrice) Ross, Carol Ann (Kevin) Fitzpatrick, Charlotte (William) Stobierski, and the late David Ross. Dear grandmother of Eric Hunter, Ross (Sarah) Hunter, Cristina (Jeremy) Marble, Sean Fitzpatrick, Olivia Fitzpatrick, Warren Ross, Grace Ross, Robert Stobierski and David Stobierski. Great-grandmother of Skylor Hunter, Logan Hunter, Ozric Hunter, Jozelyn Hunter, Cy Hunter, and Connor Marble. Sister of the late Joseph, Avis, Lucy, William, George, Gordon, Marion and Harriet.
