It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Harold “Bud” F. Schimmelpfenneg of Canton, Michigan who passed away on December 12, 2022, at the age of 82. Born in Detroit, Michigan on September 16, 1940, to Edna Hicks Schultheis and Harold O. (Emmabelle Breeden) Schimmelpfenneg. He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years Carol (nee. Wilson), his cherished daughter Sarah Venhuizen (Brian Dombrowski), his dear siblings Kenneth (Marty), Pam (Denise Malak) Holman, Karen (Steve) Garcia Long, his brother-in-law Robert (Jackie) Wilson, his sisters-in-law Sheila (the late Richard) Glick and Sharon King. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins throughout the United States. As a young man, Bud spent many summers in Detroit. He attended Howell High School and was a letterwinner in numerous varsity sports. He attended Eastern Michigan University and earned letters in varsity cross country and track and field. He served as an EMU Foundation Board of Trustees (Emeritus) Member and as an EMU Alumni Association Board of Directors (Emeritus) Member. Bud was an avid fan of EMU sports and throughout the years, Bud and his family traveled around the country to attend numerous games. Bud worked at and retired from Ford Motor Company and its subsidiaries. Visitation for Bud will be held Sunday, December 18th, from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at McCabe Funeral Home, 851 N. Canton Center Rd., Canton. A private funeral service will be held for the family.
