Lynn Alan Rice

May 13, 1953 - May 8, 2023

Lynn Alan Rice, age 69 of Farmington Hills, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2023, surrounded by his family.

Lynn was proud to say he was born on his grandparents’ farm in Hamilton, Missouri on May 13, 1953. Lynn lived in Missouri as a young boy until the family moved to Omaha, Nebraska during his youth. Growing up, Lynn enjoyed a happy and active life with his family and friends, playing sports, participating in chorus, and especially enjoyed spending time on his grandparents' farms.

Lynn graduated from Millard High School in 1971 in Omaha, Nebraska, and the University of Nebraska Lincoln in 1976, with a degree in Business Administration. After graduating from UNL, Lynn had a lifelong career in sales and marketing of commercial building materials. Lynn established his own company, Rice Associates Inc., as a manufacturer’s representative in Farmington Hills, Michigan in 1991. Lynn's son, John, worked alongside Lynn for many years until his retirement.

In 1973, Lynn married Carol and together they raised three children, Siri, John, and Erica. Lynn was a loving and devoted husband and father who always put his family first. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed golfing with his family and friends. He had a passion for music and was an animal lover who doted on all of his pets. He loved watching football, and he was a lifelong fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Lynn's greatest joy in life was spending time with his grandchildren, Maria, Moses, Louis, Evan, Georgia, and Jake.

Lynn will be remembered as a loving, kind, and generous man who touched the lives of everyone he met. Lynn will be deeply missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, extended family, and all who knew him.

Lynn was the beloved husband of Carol for 49 years. Loving father of Siri (Ryan) Morken, John (Nicole) Rice, and Erica (Vince) Bosscher. Proud grandfather of Evan and Jake Morken, and Maria, Moses, Louis and Georgia Bosscher. Dear brother of Mark Rice, Lisa Cassidy, Denise (Robert) McCauley, and the late Michael (Barbara) Rice. Brother-in-law of Linda Johnson. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Lynn was predeceased by his parents, Billie and Theresa Rice and his brother Michael Rice.
