Julie Hacker, passed away suddenly on November 6, 2023 in Detroit, MI. Julie was born in 1958 in Detroit, MI. She graduated from Cooke Elementary School and Redford High School. She graduated from Case Western Reserve University with a BA in psychology in 1980. She worked as a Senior Business Analyst in the automobile and health care industries until her retirement in 2014. She was active in activities in North Rosedale Park including the June Day Parade and community garage sale. She also volunteered at her church, St. Scholastica. Julie made hats and mittens for the Capuchin Soup Kitchen to distribute. She loved dogs and adopted many dogs from the Detroit Humane Society throughout her life. Julie is survived by Anne J. Hacker (sister), John E. (brother) and Marsha Hacker, and her nieces, Marsha Christine (Christy) Hacker, and Anna Hacker. She is preceded in death by Nancy Hacker (sister), and parents, John L. Hacker and Bernice M. Hacker (Horning). The Mass of Christian burial will be on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at St. Scholastica Catholic Church, 8201 W. Outer Drive Detroit, MI. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m., with Mass at 11:00 a.m., and a brief reception following the mass. Private interment will be in Hamburg Twsp., MI.
