It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Sandra M. Barnett of Canton, Michigan who passed away on May 11th, 2024, at the age of 68, surrounded by her family. She was born January 5th, 1956, in Detroit, Michigan to Fredrick G. Parkyn and Elizabeth A. (Ballard) Parkyn.

Sandra went to Thurston High School. She had a few jobs throughout her life but the biggest job she had was being an Amazing Wife, Supermom, and Homemaker. She had a love for baking, flowers, crocheting, Disney movies, animals, and swimming, but most of all she loved her family. Sandra has two children, Chris, and Jake from her first marriage. Then in 1984 she married the love of her life Robert Barnett and gained four bonus children, Heather, Rebecca, Kyle, Aaron. She also has one fur baby Zeus, and Nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren with one on the way.

You could always find her outside barefoot on a warm sunny day planting flowers and vegetables, or walking her fur baby, Zeus. Her favorite thing to do was BAKE and boy could she! It was something all us kids did with her from the time we were little to sharing her passion with all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They always knew if they were at nanas they were going to get to help bake something yummy! The kids also loved that she loved anything Disney or Pixar as much as they did. She would always be the first to volunteer to go see all the new Animated movies.

There was no Zoo or Aquarium that she absolutely didn’t love and if she knew you were going to one, she would tag along. If she knew you were having a baby, getting married, a birthday or any other special event she would work hard to crochet one of her beautiful blankets made with so much love. Sandra felt she didn’t always have a lot of money to give but making her blankets were more of a gift than any amount of money. Sandra will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Sandra was proceeded in death by her parents Fredrick G Parkyn and Elizabeth A. (Ballard) Parkyn. Her daughter-in-law Jodie G. Johnson (JOJO).

Sandra is survived by her husband Robert D. Barnett; her children, Chris (Becky) Ladebauche, Heather Barnett, Rebecca (Cameron) Guenther, Kyle Barnett, Jake Ladebauche, Aaron Gilbert; her fur baby, Zeus; her grandchildren, Tyler (Emily) Markin, Kira Cloer, Alexandria Guenther, Victoria Keeton, Devan Barnett, Alyssa Keeton, Matthew Ladebauche, Cheyenne Keeton; and her great-grandchildren, Hazel Markin, Lylah Markin, Ellamae Markin, and soon to be Thalia Keeton-Arts.
