William Drabkowski, age 92, passed away August 4, 2024. He was born January 28, 1932 in Sylvan Village, Michigan to William M. and Maryann Drabkowski. Raised across Michigan, William enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard at 17 years old and served honorably. Utilizing the GI Bill, he earned a master’s degree in accounting and business from the University of Detroit Mercy and his Criminal Justice degree from Madonna University.

William began his career as a firefighter for the City of Dearborn but found his true calling as a police officer and evidence technician, dedicating over 30 years as a Corporal with the Dearborn Police Department before retiring. Following his retirement, he worked as a security guard at Oakwood Hospital.

A proud member of the Knights of Columbus and an avid bodybuilder, William’s legacy is one of service and dedication. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

William was the beloved husband of Francesca for 41 years. Loving father of Bill. Dearest brother of Chris Drabkowski and Regina Dytyniak. Cherished uncle of Rob (Heather) Drabkowski, Maryann (Tim) Bernardelli, John (Michelle) Dytyniak, Joan (Gary) Wood, and Diane (Karl) Lundquist.

Visitation for William will be held on Thursday, August 8th from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday, August 9th from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a 6:30 p.m. Rosary Service at McCabe Funeral Home, 31950 W. 12 Mile Rd., Farmington Hills. He will lie in state on Saturday, August 10th at 10:30 a.m. until the time of his Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Fabian Catholic Church, 32200 W. 12 Mile Rd., Farmington Hills. Entombment will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield.
