Stanley Kenneth Lane, age 89, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2024. He was born August 13, 1935 in New Kensington, Pennsylvania to Stanley and Dorothy Lancuski. A loving husband, devoted father and dedicated public servant, Stan spent his life serving others with distinction and integrity. Proudly serving his country, Stan was a veteran of the United States Navy. After his time in the service, he embarked on a 35-year career with the Dearborn Police Department, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues and the community he served. As a police officer and detective sergeant, he was known for his unwavering commitment to justice, his compassion for those in need, and his ability to build trust with the people he protected. His dedication to his work was matched only by his devotion to his family, as he was a constant presence in the lives of those he loved the most. As a husband and father, Stan was a constant source of guidance, support, and love. He was the ultimate role model, always putting the needs of others before his own. His children and grandchildren will forever cherish the memories of his kindness, wisdom, and generosity. As we say goodbye to this remarkable man, we take comfort in the knowledge that his legacy of love, service, and dedication will live on through the countless lives he touched. Stan was the beloved husband to his wife Betty for 66 years. Loving father of Kristi (Steve) and Mark (Theresa). Proud grandfather of Kasie, Hunter, Mackenzie and Levi. Great-grandfather of Emerson. Dear brother of the late Barbara Manchell. Visitation for Mr. Lane will be held on Thursday, August 29th, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCabe Funeral Home, 851 N. Canton Center Rd., Canton. His Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 30th, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Lane will be laid to rest in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield.
