Marilyn Ryan

August 5, 1933 - August 26, 2024

Marilyn R. Ryan, age 91 of Farmington Hills, passed away August 26, 2024. She was born August 5, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan to James and Dorothy Ryan.

Soon after her graduation from St. Theresa High School in Detroit, Marilyn began her career with Detroit Edison, dedicating many years of hard work as a customer service representative. Following retirement, Marilyn spent much of her time as a loving caregiver to her parents, especially to her dear mother. Throughout her days, she loved to socialize and spend time with family and friends. Taking after her father, Marilyn was known to have a bit of a fiery side. However, she would quickly soften any blows with her smiling Irish eyes. Her sense of humor will be missed as well, sharing a good laugh with those she loved the most.

In later years, as Marilyn’s health began to decline, her fighting spirit never wavered. She was truly a warrior, overcoming the endless days of the pandemic and battling the effects long covid. Marilyn’s family would like to thank the staff at The Neighborhoods of White Lake, where she received incredible care during her months of rehabilitation.

Above all else, Marilyn was deeply committed to her Lord and her faith. She was a devout parishioner of St. Fabian Catholic Church, always making her way to Mass, even attending until her final days. Marilyn was deeply loved and will be missed by so many.

Marilyn was the loving sister of Patricia (the late Adrian) Renaud, Kathy Ryan, the late Betty Ryan and the late Gerry (the late Jack) Trumpy. Dear friend of Dr. Jeffrey Zaks. Also survived by her beloved Goddaughter Mary Lou Mahoney, her wonderful caregiver Heaven Tolton, close friends Ed and Marina Pokriefka, and the entire LeFevre family.

Visitation for Marilyn will be held on Thursday, August 29th, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of her Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Fabian Catholic Church, 32200 W. 12 Mile Rd., Farmington Hills. She will be laid to rest in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield.
