It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Rosemarie “Rosey / Nona” Alberty, who departed this life on September 30, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Rosey was born on September 13, 1954, to Madeline and Marchioni Castronovo. She grew up in Detroit, where she attended Denby High School. Rosey was a sister to Johnny Castronovo, who along with her parents proceeded her in death. May she now be reunited with them in peace. Shortly after graduating, Rosey began working at Kirby Company — there she met her future husband, Thomas J. Alberty. They married in 1976 and, from those modest beginnings, built a remarkable life together. Their greatest shared venture was Rosey’s Romper Room in Canton, Michigan — a childcare business grounded in love, trust, and community care. Over the years it touched the lives of countless families, a legacy of her nurturing spirit. Rosey was the proud parent of three and proud Nona to ten. She is survived by her husband of 49 years. Thomas J. Alberty; her daughter Angela (Geoff) and their children Sam, Addelina, & Charlie; her son Tommy (Brianna) and their children River, Marchioni, Oriana & Matteo; and her daughter Andrea (Jonathan) and their children Adrianna, Giovanna & Gianni. Also held dear in her heart were Julia Babcock and her daughters, Molly & Jemma, who she embraced as family. Rosey was the light of every room she entered. She delighted in hosting her beloved Sunday Family Dinners at Nona’s, where she served her treasured Italian meals and created generations of memories. She displayed courage and perseverance; she bravely faced cancer three separate times, always fighting with grace, strength, and unwavering faith for her family. If you knew Rosey, you knew her kindness. She gave generously — of her love, her time, her heart. She inspired all who crossed her path. Her absence is deeply felt; her legacy will continue. Visitation for Rosey will be held on Saturday, October 4th, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of her Funeral Service at 7:00 p.m. at McCabe Funeral Home, 851 N. Canton Center Rd., Canton. Memorial donations in Rosey’s name can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or C.S. Mott Children's Hospital.Rose Alberty
