I am very sorry to hear about your loss of David. There is a wonderful promise at Isaiah 25:8 that says that God will wipe the tears from our eyes and death will be no more. Mike, I was terribly saddened to hear about your Dad just now. He was an awesome guy. When I think back to our wrestling days I can always hear his voice calling out our names and which mat we were up next on. My thoughts are with you and your family through this tough time.

As one of the Gary Lane boys I've known your father since we were young boys. I've known your mother since Jr High School. It saddens me deeply to learn of Dave's passing and I regrettably am unable to attend services. I hope to meet the Popeney boys, their wives and children some day and share my stories about your father then. My deepest condolences to You Sandi, David, Michael and Brian.

To the Popeney family: Juli and I were shocked to hear this terrible news about Dave's passing just today - April 21. WE just don't know what to say. Dave was a wonderful guy to say the least. We got to know your family originally when Brian and Drew were playing ball together. Dave came and visited me in the hospital years ago and I was so impressed he would take time out of his day to spend some with me while I recovered. I enjoyed listening to Dave play at Resurrection and running into him at the Crows Nest. I remember running into you guys at the airport when you were headed to Florida for a family vacation. I spent a long evening with Mike and his cousin that night in Memphis with flight problems, but Drew and I were able to visit with your family in Florida a few days later. Nothing but positive things to say about the Popeney family. Dave we are so sorry we didn't know about your passing to lend some support to Sandi and the kids.
