Mallory, so much of our lives seem similar. My dad was sick for most of my life and yet he fought so valiantly over the years for a meaningful quality of life that would leave steep impressions on me and my entire family about learning what is important and how to live fully with appreciation and lots of love. He too had a congenital heart defect and I lost him last year. I know how you feel, and I have experienced the pain that does not seem real at first, but I have learned in the quiet times he speaks to me and he is always there, just as your dad will be within the closeness of your heart you will hear him and he will guide you. You will find too that between the tears, emotions, memories, and pain, there can be joy, but you must seek it out and cleave to it. It will be difficult, but between your family, close friends and God you will find comfort, just breathe and exhale... and know that I am here too if I can ever help. I had never met Bill, I don;t think but I had spoken with him on the phone about concrete mix designs. I'm very sad for his loss. I've said prayers for his soul and the comfort of the family.
