I am so very sorry for your loss. May the God of all comfort embrace you with peace and hope during this difficult time. Rev 21:4
Guestbook
Loved her bright smile, infectious laugh and genuineness.
She was my sweet sister-in-law and cared so deeply about others. My thoughts and prayers are with my brother and his family as they deal with this tremendous loss.
Chuck and family: our thoughts and prayers are with you. We knew Marilyn for 50+ years. She was a very classy person, a "lady" in every sense of the word.
Dear Chuck, Joy and I wish to express our condolences on the loss of your wife Marilyn. Sorry we are unable to attend the services as we won't be home to mid.April.
We will all miss Marilyn, her soul has flown to a kinder place. Love, Sharon and Ron
Marilyn has been our friend and a part of our family for 50 years. She is Aunt Marilyn to Catherine and Jennifer. She brought joy to our family pack. It was fun playing bridge, shopping for bargains, going out to ball games and yes, imbibing in Cold Duck. She was a model for us on how to parent. She was a strong woman who raised successful children and grandchildren who adored her. She was a loving wife who found ways to adapt to Chuck's strange schedule and (many) other idiosyncrasies. And she was a loyal friend who never let the physical distance between us diminish the closeness we always felt. She was beautiful in every way.
She dashed out of the house every day to become a "permanent" substitute teacher where ever she was assigned in Detroit. Those are long days. She took the money she made, invested it carefully, kept close track of her returns, and was always delighted that she was doing better than Chuck. She also was the center of her family's life. We watched her care for her Mother and we watched her kids care for her. When she and Chuck bought their house, she was so proud of it. The Rock out front defined Marilyn and her house. Perhaps there are more dedicated grandparents than Chuck and Marilyn but we don't know them. The recent Dause family wedding had information broadcast for a solid year. She had two dresses bought a year in advance of the wedding.
Marilyn remains a living force in our Seltzer family lives and we cherish the time we were able to spend with her.
Marilyn was a bright, lively person who made you feel better when she smiled. My thoughts and prayers are with your family
It was with great sadness that Del and I learned that Marilyn had died.
I was fortunate to have met her in grade school where we became friends. One of the first things we loved doing together was playing basketball for our parish school team and the CYO. Although we attended separate high schools, we both went to Mercy College, had part time jobs at the same Medical Practice in Northwest Detroit, and began our teaching careers in the same school on the East Side of Detroit.
I have a collection of memories of Marilyn, but none are as memorable as to who she was. Marilyn was a woman of deep faith, warm and caring, sweet and kind, talented, humble, extraordinarily positive, upbeat, and fun. She will always be in my heart.
With our deepest sympathy and prayers for you, Chuck, and your family. May the love of God be your comfort in sorrow.
