My prayers and condolences go out to you and your family! John will truly be missed.

For 30 years, John (& Kate) have been wonderful across-the-street neighbors. We are certainly going to miss John's infectious smile and funny stories. He was always good for a wave or a chat when getting the mail or the garbage cans. Over the years, we shared our mutual love for Ford, the car industry, Quality, & technology, and always welcomed his advice and counsel. We are so glad that we were able to have a COVID-19 safe visit with John & Kate a few weeks ago on their patio. He will always be warmly thought of and missed. Friend, RIP.

I knew John only through the Karmanos Support Group, but can second all that is said about him. John was always upbeat, giving me hope.

Our thoughts and Prayers are with you all! Wishing we were there with you! There is a deep ache in my Heart! We will miss him immensely! I will always cherish my memories of him playing piano, his smile, his deep love of family. He was so proud of all of you! He eyes would sparkle every time he spoke of you! Sincerest condolences on the loss of John. He was a wonderful person and gave so much to his family. I am grateful that I had a chance to get to know John and the Kern family while in Birmingham. It was amazing to see him persevere well over ten years after his initial diagnosis and to be a part of the lives of his grandchildren. I will be thinking of you all in the days ahead.
