Dear Mary and the Lark family, Please accept our sincerest condolences. I was so blessed to sit for an afternoon and speak with Jim about the history of the neighborhood, the township and of his life's adventures--just a small slice of a colorful life which impacted so many people around him in profoundly positive ways. He was a wealth of knowledge, a historian and a visionary. His charming sense of humor and quick wit will hold a special place in our hearts.

Dear Mary, Adrian and the entire Lark family, I am sad to read of Jim's passing, but happy to have known him since the 1980s. I met him back then when I became his banking advisor. It didn't take long for a Business relationship to turn personal. That's how he rolled. I enjoyed spending time in his restaurant office talking about everything but business. Mary always made sure to show me the ever growing garden. Later on, I came to know Adrian as well. It was a pleasure dining at The Lark and being able to see all of them thoroughly enjoying their patrons/friends enjoy the food, wine and ambiance. I will treasure my signed book even more now. A life well lived.

Dear Mary, John and I are so sorry for your loss. We have many fond memories of The Lark and talking with you and Jim. You and your family are in our thoughts.

Joe and I were very sad to learn of Jim's passing. Our sincere condolences to dear Mary, Adrian, and your entire family. We always enjoyed our great conversations with Jim during our many visits to The Lark (Booth #11!) and looked forward to his newsletters every month. RIP Jim. We were both friends of Blessed, Father Solanus Casey of the Capuchins in Detroit. I will always remember your great sense of humor. You had a great love for life. The Navy instilled greatness in you 2. God Bless you, family, friends, people. I will miss you JDL. Your friend, Just Tom.
