Uncle George became my uncle when I married Duane Haapala. Uncle George has always been very special to me, we both shared our love of Golf and there was a period of time when we would meet up and play 18 holes. The one thing I always thought was amazing about George, is that you never ever heard him say a cuss word. When he would have a bad shot he would just say "peanut brittle". Uncle George loved the Lord, his family, and life. He will truly be missed. I hope there are golf courses in heaven and I get to play another round with him. Donna Haapal

George Pope always had a joyous spirit. I had the pleasure of knowing him throughout my DTE career. He always spoke proudly of his family.
May God rest George's soul. There is a special place in Heaven for such a great man. My prayers to his family.

Curtis and Richie, I am sorry to hear of your father's passing. While I didn't know him, it was because of him that I was able to meet you both, which makes his life special to me. My condolences to the entire Pope family.
