Tomak was taken from us way too soon. He will be greatly missed.

I offer my deepest sympathies and sincerest admiration to all of Tomak's family and friends, to whom he gave so much of his life, his art and every bit of his abundant energy. Ars longa (art and skill are hard and take time to learn), vita brevis (life is short). I've never met someone who worked so hard, as if he would be gone the next day, every precious moment filled with urgency. Let no one say he wasted a minute of a life well-lived! Rest now from ceaseless toil, dear friend!

To Tomak's family: I am so sorry for your loss, which I can scarcely comprehend. I met Tomak through a circle of Ann Arbor friends back in the 1990s. He was such a potent mixture of happy, energetic, and strange. Quick to smile, and I remember how he would tilt his head when contemplating something someone said. I'd not seen him much in recent years. Others I know were closer to him, and they are struggling. There are some lights you can't imagine ever being extinguished.

Your presence during Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners will surely be missed. Thank you for sharing your wisdom, your sense of humor, your ART will continue live on, to be appreciated and color our world. We will miss you singing with us "Sto Lat Sto Lat". Rest In Peace Tomak.
