I offer my condolences and prayers for the family and friends of Durai. I have worked with Durai at Hanon Systems for many years and could always rely on his professional skill, demeanor and patience to analyze and explain complex problems. He was respected by many and will be missed.

As a very good family friend, Durai was a very calm, soft spoken gentleman.Having witnessed his love and affection to his daughters and always as a proud Dad, his loss will definitely create a void in the family. I have no doubt that his constant mild smiley face will last forever in everyone's memory. Our deep condolences to his family and prayers to the almighty to give the necessary strength in overcoming this heavy loss.

I am Sankarasubramanian (Sankar Arumugam), IIT Brahms hostel mate of Duraisamy, from Cary, NC. We fondly called him as "Perusu" at IIT. Really shocked to hear his sudden demise. I met him and his family in Greenville, SC around 2012 or so. Duraisamy was highly disciplined and had a pretty systematic approach to everything in life. You could tell the time of the day (up to minutes) if he was spotted in library/mess. Real gentleman. No controversies. Soft spoken. Amazing individual. My sincere condolences to the family. Durai is amazing person with special smile on his face always. His presence would be missed by all the loved ones. Hope his family gets to celebrate his pleasant memory in spite of loss at this young age.

Durai was a special friend to me. We used to have long chats about our families and of course Structural Engineering (FEA). I will miss him immensely. May the family get enough strength to bear this unexpected loss.

Very sincere, lovable,ever smiling person.Had a very long association at personal level and at CIT.During my Doctoral work at CEG, helped in literature survey to proof reading. On the family front he always mingled with everybody. Happy to met him during my last visit in July'22. May God give enough strength and Courage to bear the great loss to His wife and Daughters. I am R.Venugopal, school mate of our Duraiswamy. Deeply saddened to hear his sudden demise. My sincere condolences to the family. Our prayers are with him and his family and let God give all the strength to his family and dear ones and let him Rest in peace.

We were hostel-mates in Brahmaputra, IIT Madras during 1990s. We fondly call him "Pannaiyar" in Tamil. We had a very nice time and we can't forget our association during those young days. We met in Detroit during my visit to USA in 2018. It is extremely sad to know his sudden demise. He has attained the Lotus Feet of Lord Shiva at an young age. I pray to Lord Shiva to give mental strength to the bereaved family to cope up with the reality.

I am Ramanan, studied at Coimbatore Institute of Technology with our dear friend, Duraiswamy fondly called as Durai. Life after college took us apart till technology United us. Durai is always remembered with a smile on his face. He was always gentle and soft-spoken. I was fortunate to visit him at his house in Canton, MI in June 2022 after more than 35 years. The smile was there intact and remember the extreme warmth with which he greeted and hosted us ( me, my wife and my daughter). Spent the afternoon speaking at length of our journeys post college and our families. Shared the challenges that he faced and how he tackled them. Spoke at length about his daughters and we shared a paternal love and our wishlist for their future. His sudden demise comes as a shocker having seen him very recently. Dr Duraiswamy is an unassuming person, with a distinct taste for humor. Though I am outside the fringe of his his friendship circle, that did not stop him from treating me as if I were one inside the circle. So much so that in a gathering he had facilitated for a close friend of his at his residence surrounded by his many other close friends, he gave me the honor of presenting the event (it was the year of Beijing Olympics as I remember watching a few key events at his residence then).

Durai was a person of few words, but whose impact was always felt. Words cannot do justice at this time. His calmness, fairness, humility and quiet humor were inspiring.
