The good old days at Nordstrom Samson. Some called him Tricky Dick others Dickey Pooh.....all endearments of course. He was never shown discourtesy because he was always courteous to all of us. Dick always had a smile on his face a pipe in one hand and a slide rule in the other....yes kids none of the electronic gadgetry in those days. I always appreciated the respect I got from Dick as a young draftsman along with the knowledge he shared less fortunate in the i.q. department of structural engineering. I consider myself a better Architect and Person for having the privilege of working with Dick in my early years.
