I remember so many horribly busy and crazy days in the Providence Hospital ER that were made bearable, and even enjoyable, by the deliciously wicked wit of Dr Wagner. No matter how grave the situation, he never seemed to lose his cool. Or his humor. His legend lives on, as whenever the nurses from that era of the ER get together, we fondly recount the many "Wagnerisms" that have become part of our ER lore. But in addition to being funny, he was an excellent physician and a genuinely caring person. I am proud to have worked with him for 10 years in the ER.

Dr Wagner was an ER doc at Garden City Osteopathic Hospital when I rotated through my ER elective when I was in medical school. He was a fabulous physician, taught me an enormous amount, bought the staff pizza on a regular basis, and made us laugh ourselves silly. If he hadn't become a doc, he could have done stand up comedy. So sorry to hear he is no longer with us.
